Star Hotels in Sedona

Sedona is becoming one of the apex tourist destinations in the USA. This comparatively small place in Arizona offers many things to be seen in addition to the red rocks. The city of Sedona was named after the wife of the postmaster Theodore Carlton Schnebly. Today, this city hosts millions of visitors every year, a vast difference to its modest homestead.

Along with its exotic beauty, there are also some magnificent hotels in Sedona such as the Hilton and The Sedona Rouge and Spa. However, other reasonable and budget accommodations could be found with Best Western and the Sky Ranch Lodge. During summer, there are many camp sites open along Oak Creek Canyon, located between Sedona and Flagstaff and some camp sites are open round the year. Oak Creek Sedona canyon is said to be the most attractive drives in the USA.

The best resort hotels in Sedona have spas that are in themselves worth a trip to Arizona.

Star Hotels in Sedona

Enchantment Resort and MII Amo Spa

The Enchantment resort is one of the best resorts in Sedona and MII Amo is a spa with its own suites and casitas. Many harried executives and stressed out guests come here annually and don’t leave the spa till they check out.

Amara Resort

This is another luxurious hotel with a view of Oak Creek from room and suite patios which is relaxing in itself. The Amara Spa fits right in with the relaxing environment of the resort, with its calm colors and simple and comfortable interior design. The outer radiance spa package here is quite generous for a luxury spa such as this as it offers a free night’s stay.

L’Auberge de Sedona

This lavish resort is owned by the same company as the Amara resort. It also has a free parking space for cars and there are golf carts which take the guests down the hill to the other side of Oak Creek. The new spa at L’Auberge in Sedona offers both indoor and outdoor treatments.

Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa

Sedona Rouge hotel 7 spa is a 4 star hotel which offers luxury accommodations and outstanding service. Standard facilities include a heated pool and a fitness center. Guests could also enjoy the hotel’s outdoor fireplace, yoga classes and the observation terrace for star gazing.

Thus, there are fantastic accommodations to choose from a variety of hotels and comfort is the main criteria while booking a hotel there.

Flagstaff Oktoberfest – Homage to the 200th Anniversary of the Munich Celebration

In general, October marks the beginning of things cooling down in Arizona, but things are heating up in Flagstaff in preparation for the upcoming Oktoberfest celebration. Hotels in Flagstaff are gearing up to welcome lots of visitors to the city as the second annual Oktoberfest kicks off October 2nd, 2010. There’s an air of excitement as the city prepares for this fun celebration.

Oktoberfest is a German tradition that started back in 1810 when the citizens of Munich were invited to attend celebrate the marriage of King Ludwig I to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. Horse races in the presence of the royal family marked the close of the event that was celebrated as a festival for all of Bavaria. The decision to repeat the horse races in subsequent years gave rise to the Oktoberfest tradition.

Today, Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany is the largest festival in the world, and will celebrate its 200th anniversary this year from September 18th through October 4th. With some six million people attending each year, it’s a key element of Bavarian culture. Munich hotels, just like Flagstaff hotels, really roll out the red carpet for festival attendees. The event has some impressive statistics: 14 giant tents with a seating capacity of 100,000 serve 5.5 million liters of potent “March beer,” more than 600,000 fried chickens and 84 heads of cattle. The annual commercial value of the whole event is estimated at a minimum of 0.7 billion Euro.

If you’re planning a trip to the Flagstaff area, you might want to plan it around the 2010 Oktoberfest where you can enjoy the live entertainment including polka bands, various German beers as well as some great locally-brewed options and delicious food. Flagstaff hotels and all the locals and students are ready to welcome lots of visitors in October.
